Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

How do I color a picture?

Select a color from the palette at the bottom of the screen, then tap any region with that color's number to fill it in. Continue filling regions until the artwork is complete!

What do the numbers on the picture mean?

Each number corresponds to a color in the palette. Match the number on the region to the color in the palette to know which color belongs there.

How do I zoom in and out?

Pinch with two fingers to zoom in or out. You can also use the + and - buttons in the toolbar. Drag with one finger to pan around the canvas.

Finding Colors

I can't find where to paint the current color. What do I do?

Tap the lightbulb icon in the toolbar. This will highlight all remaining regions for your selected color and automatically center the view on the nearest unpainted area.

What happens when I finish all regions of one color?

The app automatically selects the next available color for you, so you can keep painting without interruption.

Sharing Your Art

How do I share a completed picture?

After completing an artwork, tap the Share button on the completion screen. You can share:

  • Static Image: A PNG of your finished artwork
  • Replay GIF: An animated GIF showing your painting progress

Choose your preferred method (Messages, Email, Social Media, etc.) from the share sheet.

Can I share artwork I completed earlier?

Yes! Go to the "My Art" tab, find your completed artwork, and tap to open it. From there you can access the share options.

Printing Your Art

How do I print my artwork?

Tap the Print button on the completion screen. You can choose from three formats:

  • Outline Grid: Black and white outline for manual coloring
  • Grid with Numbers: Outline with color numbers (great for coloring guides)
  • Full Color: Your completed artwork in full color

The app uses AirPrint, so make sure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Can I save a printable version as a file?

Yes! The print dialog also allows you to save as a PDF or image file instead of printing directly.

Progress & Saving

Is my progress saved automatically?

Yes! Your progress is saved automatically as you paint. You can close the app at any time and pick up right where you left off.

Can I undo a mistake?

Tap the Undo button (curved arrow) in the toolbar to undo your last fill. You can undo multiple times to go back through your recent actions.

Can I start over on a picture?

Yes! Tap the red reset button (circular arrow) in the top-right corner of the canvas to start over from the beginning.

My Art Collection

Where can I see all my completed artwork?

Tap the "My Art" tab to view your gallery of completed artwork. You'll see when each piece was completed.

How do I favorite an artwork?

Tap the star icon on any completed artwork to add it to your favorites. You can filter your gallery to show only favorites.

Can I replay how I colored a picture?

Yes! On the completion screen or from your gallery, tap the Replay button to watch an animated playback of your painting process. You can watch at 4x or 8x speed.

Settings & Preferences

How do I turn off sound effects?

Go to Settings (gear icon) and toggle off "Sound Effects."

How do I turn off haptic feedback (vibration)?

Go to Settings and toggle off "Haptic Feedback."

What is Mystery Mode?

Mystery Mode hides the preview of artworks in the gallery, so you don't see what the final image looks like until you start coloring. Toggle it in Settings for a surprise experience!

What does the Minimap do?

The Minimap shows a small overview of the full image in the corner while you're zoomed in, helping you see where you are in the picture. Toggle it in Settings.

Content & Packs

Are new pictures added regularly?

Yes! We regularly add new artwork packs with fresh content to color.

What's the difference between free and paid packs?

Free packs are available to everyone. Paid packs can be unlocked with a single purchase that gives you access to all premium content.

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Go to Settings and tap "Restore Purchases." Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you used for the original purchase.

Offline Use

Does Pixel Pop work offline?

Yes! Pixel Pop is designed to work fully offline. All artwork packs are downloaded to your device, so you can color anywhere without an internet connection.

Privacy & Safety

Is Pixel Pop safe for children?

Absolutely. Pixel Pop is designed to be kid-safe:

  • No ads
  • No account required
  • No social features or user-generated content
  • No third-party tracking
  • In-app purchases use Apple's StoreKit with parental controls

Where can I read the Privacy Policy?

Visit our Privacy Policy for complete details on how we handle your data (spoiler: we collect almost nothing!).

Troubleshooting

The app is running slowly. What can I do?

Try closing other apps running in the background. If issues persist, restart your device. Pixel Pop is optimized for performance, but older devices may experience slower loading on very large images.

My progress disappeared. How do I get it back?

Progress is stored locally on your device. If you deleted and reinstalled the app, local progress may be lost. For future protection, ensure iCloud is enabled for Pixel Pop in your device settings.

A picture won't load. What should I do?

Try closing and reopening the app. If the issue persists, check that you have sufficient storage space on your device. Contact us at help@smercheksolutions.com if problems continue.
